Visit Delaware Presents CityPickle Outdoor Pickleball Pop-Up in Philadelphia Sept. 2 – Oct. 18

Half the screen features an image of City Hall in Philly, the other half has the DE Tourism Office logo on a dark blue background.

Dover, Del. – The Delaware Tourism Office (DTO)/Visit Delaware is excited to be the presenting sponsor for CityPickle’s seasonal outdoor pickleball pop-up coming to Philadelphia’s City Hall from Sept. 2 – Oct. 18.

As part of the sponsorship, the pickleball courts will feature extensive DTO branding, including the Visit Delaware logo and imagery incorporated throughout the pop-up. DTO will also have the opportunity to host tourism industry partners on-site throughout the six-week partnership.

DTO plans to invite Delaware’s pickleball facilities, hotels, restaurants, attractions, museums and other tourism partners to participate in tabling opportunities at CityPickle, providing partners with a chance to engage directly with visitors and promote their businesses and destinations. Additional information and participation details will be shared directly with interested partners.

Through its sponsorship of CityPickle, Visit Delaware looks forward to introducing Philadelphia residents and visitors to the nearby destinations, attractions, and experiences that are unique to Delaware.

“Delaware is just a short drive from Philadelphia, making it easy for visitors to turn a day in the city into an opportunity to explore the First State,” said Jessica Welch, Director of the Delaware Tourism Office/Visit Delaware. “From our beautiful beaches to tax-free shopping, outdoor adventures, arts and culture, great food and unforgettable experiences, there’s something for everyone to discover. We’re thrilled to partner with CityPickle and bring the Visit Delaware brand to this event to inspire area residents and visitors to come play, explore, and enjoy all that the First State has to offer.”

CityPickle Co-Founder and Co-CEO Erica Desai added, “Visit Delaware shares our passion for creating memorable experiences and encouraging exploration, making them an ideal partner for this year’s Philadelphia activation.”

Two courts will be open outside City Hall, weekdays from 12-7 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Court reservations can be made one week in advance through the CityPickle app beginning August 26. Advanced Court Bookings are open now through this form, allowing guests planning ahead for a party, a gathering with friends, or a networking event to reserve a court more immediately.

Pickleball is the nation’s fastest-growing sport, according to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, with 24.3 million Americans having played in 2025. CityPickle is a New York based organization operating nine facilities across the East Coast, seasonal outdoor pop-ups, and a planned expansion into Florida.
